The new Senior Product Manager has to act as a bridge between the stakeholders and the analytics&leadership team through building great relationships, supporting and challenging with skill & holding leaders to account for full delivery. Openness and integrity are a must.
The Senior Product Manager has to:
- Visualize data into actionable dashboards to support better, faster decisions
- Enable democratization of analytics self-service ecosystem
- Ensure that we have governed metrics & KPIs
- Own the product direction / roadmap
- Establish, build and lead the product team
- Ensure the utilisation and adoption of the products for decisions
- Be able to influence at all levels of the business from Analysts to CFO
- Be able to generate ideas, driving decisions through dynamic analysis, often requiring creativity to find a solution around a business issue; ability to think in the future and anticipate trends and opportunities and position against this to deliver future value is a must.
- Lead and educate the data visualisation team from a functional perspective and demonstrate exceptional leadership
- Collaborate with technical partners that help facilitate strategic objectives and drive business plans, road maps, and requirements
- Develop a product feature and release roadmap based on business strategies, in-depth data analysis, and a clear understanding of business and end user needs
- Drive value-based prioritization by assessing the business impact of different data product solutions and the trade-offs between customer needs, technology requirements and costs
- Implement and evolve best in class approach to reporting & data enablement through a robust and consistent improvement process.
- Define and plan high-level and detailed business deliverables and manage the day to day execution of data product releases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent business oriented discipline
- 4+ year of experience in data product management, or leading reporting and analytics solutions
- Exceptional leadership, communication and presentation skills
- Experience with cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS. Experience with Big Data and NoSQL technologies like Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Impala, Cassandra, Storm, Flume, Pig, or Hive.
- Experience addressing current and future customer needs through innovative solutions
- Comprehensive understanding of Agile methodologies and principles such as Scrum, LEAN, Kanban, and XP Programming, and how they’re applied in workplace culture.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams of data analysts, engineers, and scrum masters in the delivery of data analytic products.
- Meaningful experience in data warehousing, dimensional modelling and the ability to bring best practices with regard to data management, ETL, API integrations, and data governance
- Demonstrated complex critical thinking and ability to creatively solve problems with measurable business impact.
- Proven ability to respond to and prioritize changing business demands effectively
- Expertise in best design and implementation practices in data visualization tools such as Tableau, IBM Cognos, MicroStrategy, PowerBI or QlikView.
- Strong understanding of various database management systems like Oracle, MySQL, Teradata, Netezza, SQL Server, or DB2, as well as proficiency in working with large data sets.
- In-depth knowledge of the relationship between business process and data products.
- Fluency in English (both oral & written) is a must
- Ability to issue invoices as a contractor
Nice to have
- 6+ years of experience in enterprise data analytics, reporting, and data products
- 3+ years of experience in large-scale software development with emphasis on data analytics and high-volume data processing
- 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional, highly analytical and technical teams and enterprise wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
- 3+ years of relevant product or program management experience in B2B wholesale distribution, e-commerce, finance, retail, operations, and/or business management/consulting with a proven history of delivering results
- Experience with advanced analytic techniques, such as factor analysis, predictive modelling, logistic regression, cluster analysis, segmentation, attitudinal/motivational analysis, concept/copy testing, sales forecasting, response prediction, advertising effectiveness, consumer profiling, marketing mix and ROI measurement
